£1.5 million Denbighshire spa complex opens its doors
St Dyfnog Springs, a new luxury spa complex in Llanrhaeadr, Denbighshire was officially opened over the weekend in the presence of over 200 people.
During the opening ceremony, proprietor Emma Jones described the new complex as the realisation of a lifelong dream, and thanked the many individuals who had played a part in the fufillment of her vision, including Alwyn Rowlands of Denbigh architects Creu and the project’s construction company Anwyl.
She also acknowledged the support given to the project by Cadw, who advised on the renovation of the listed building and Visit Wales, the tourism arm of the Welsh Assembly Government, who made a grant of £200,000 towards the costs of the project.
The spa boasts top-end facilities, including hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room and ice fountain, state-of-the art gym, hairdressing studio, St Tropez sun shower and six treatment rooms. St Dyfnog’s have also joined forced with Leonardo’s Deli and Outside Catering company of Ruthin to open a bistro serving light snacks and drinks both inside and outdoors in the courtyard.

Said Emma Jones.
‘I wanted to create a haven of peace and quiet where people could come and relax or work out in the beautiful Denbighshire countryside. With a lot of determination, that’s what we’ve achieved.’

Welsh Assembly Government Tourism Minister, Rhodri Glyn Thomas, said
‘The owner of the business has a clear vision for its future development and has proved herself to be a successful entrepreneur. Her expertise and marketing awareness should bring the enterprise the success it deserves as well as make a substantial contribution to the local tourism economy.’
